Dorothy M (Claycamp) Hehman

Dorothy M. Hehman, 97, of Seymour, passed away peacefully early on the morning of Thursday, October 3, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy entered this life on April 9, 1922, in Jackson County, Indiana, the loving daughter of Fred and Mathilda (Mellenbruch) Claycamp. She was a graduate of Cortland High School Class of 1939. She was the only one of her 10 siblings that graduated with a diploma.  On November 9, 1941, Dorothy was united in marriage to Carl F. Hehman at St. Paul Lutheran Church Borchers. This union of 70 years was blessed with daughters, Catherine, Sharon, and Carlene. Dorothy was a loving wife and mother and a great quiltmaker. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Brownstown.

Dorothy will be missed by her loving daughters, Catherine Stuckwisch and her husband Floyd, Sharon Pilman and her husband Jerry, and Carlene Hash and her husband Marvin, her 8 grandchildren, Tony Stuckwisch, Marty Stuckwisch, Jerry Pilman, Jr., Scott Pilman, Kyle Pilman, Kent Hurley, Robin Fletcher, Kristi Stuckwisch, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl who passed on December 19, 2011, her parents, her brothers Clarence, Elmer, Raymond, Andrew, and James Claycamp, her sisters, Clara Peters, Lydia Kaemming, Marie Koester, and Edna Claycamp.

Funeral Services will be conducted at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeremy Yeadon officiating on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may visit at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 1:00 pm until time of the service.

Memorials may be written in Dorothy’s name to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Expansion Fund/ Capital Fund, Lutheran Central School, or the Donor’s Choice.
