James "Jim" Kelley Obituary

James (Jim) Franklin Kelley, age 85, of Medora, passed away peacefully Monday, January 6, 2020, at Hoosier Christian Village surrounded by his loving family.

James entered this life on March 27, 1934, in Carr Township. He was the loving son of Foster James and Flora Weddell Kelley Bever.

He spent most of his life in Jackson County and went to Clearspring School

On June 29, 1956, he was united in marriage to Wilma J. (Pate) Kelley at Calvary Lutheran Church of Bedford.  This happy union was blessed with three loving children, Randall, David, and Linda.  James served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

James retired from Relco Trucking Systems after 20 years of driving. He also worked in construction. He loved just being outdoors.

He was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Medora and was the caretaker of Weddleville Lutheran Cemetery.

James memories will be cherished by his loving wife of 63 years, Wilma, Randall Kelley and his wife Donna, David Kelley, and Linda Kelley; four grandchildren, Matthew Kelley and his wife Shylah, Daniel Kelley and his companion Samantha, Jennifer Carson and her husband David, and Rachel Tatham and her husband David; nine great-grandchildren, Lane and Hannah Kelley, Colton, Anna, and Addison Carson,  Parker, Avery, and Finley Tatham, and Trevor Conner; a brother-in-law Leo Reynolds, and a sister-in-law Ruth Kelley.

James was preceded in death by his parents, a brother jack Kelley, and a sister Beverly Reynolds

 

Funeral Services will be conducted at Hague Funeral Home of Medora on Friday, January 10, 2020, at 11:00 am with Pastor Jack Belk officiating.

Burial will follow at Weddleville Lutheran Cemetery

Friends may share memories of James with his family at Hague Funeral Home on January 9, 2020, from 4:00-8:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Friday until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions in James' name may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Weddleville Lutheran Cemetery, or the Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
