Ella Marie
Phelps
Jul 19, 1970 — Aug 24, 2026
Norman
Ella Marie Phelps, of Norman, passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2026 in Houston with her husband by her side. She was 56 years old.
Ella entered this life in Bloomington, Indiana on July 19, 1970. She was the second born to Huey Darrell and Betty (Baker) Blondell. She was the younger sister to Huey, Jr. She grew up in Ellettsville and was a Mustang Graduate of Edgewood High. She attended IU and Ivy technical school where she received a degree as a Dental Technician. She would work in the dental profession until her entrepreneurial side came through. Together with a friend they started a cleaning business. Often helping those who were unable to keep their homes clean. When she tried to retire from cleaning homes, she had a few loving clients that would not let her retire, so she cut back to spend more time at home.
On August 24, 2013, at Brown County State Forrest, she was forever united to Shannon Phelps. Together they raised 4 girls, Samantha, Krysta, Jessie, and Sarah. She was a Christian wife, devoted mother, and loving Ma-Maw. Loved her family with fierce loving passion, if anyone messed with her family, they were messing with her. Not one to sit still long, Ella would come up with projects for her and Shannon to work on around the house. She loved to work in her garden and can the vegetables. Often teaching others the art of canning. Her devotion to Christ was evident. Mornings Ella would sit on her front porch with a cup of coffee, her Bible and watch the sunrise while studying the Word. Her kindness towards others. Ella was often known to drop what she was doing and lend a helping hand to anyone she considered her family.
Ella, along wither her husband were members of the Follow the Son Christian Motorcycle Club. Together they rode the Miracle Ride every year, an event that thousands of motorcycle riders help raise money for Riley's Children Hospital. They would participate in many fundraising events every year until the weather would park them for the season.
Her love will forever be cherished by her husband Shannon Phelps, daughters, Samantha Hendrix, Krysta Hendrix, Jessie Phelps and Sarah Phelps, her father H. Darrell Blondell, brother H." Junior "Blondell, and several grandchildren, and several loving friends.
She was preceded by her mother.
A Celebration of Ella's life will be announced at a later date.
Final wishes have been entrusted to the caring staff of Hague Funeral Home of Medora.
