Obituary

Megan Rose Christopher Bane passed away unexpectedly at her home in Medora on the afternoon of November 5, 2026. She was 43.

Megan entered this life on September 12, 1983, in Seymour, Indiana. She was the beloved daughter of Glenn and Dixie Bane and Kristi. She grew up in Medora and never travelled far from home. She was a graduate of Medora Community High School, Class of 2001. She was a member of the Medora High School Volleyball Team that went to sectional. The only team in the school’s history to win a sectional.

She was loved by many. Her kindness and joy will always be remembered. She was the one who would give her shirt off her back, even if she didn’t have a shirt to give.

She is survived by her family, Glenn and Dixie Bane, Kristi Bane, son, Korbyn Bane, sisters Kalli Berry and her husband George, Kerri Bane Striegel, brother Richie Christopher and his wife Evelyn and children, cousins Jordyn Buchanan and her husband Chris, Kassi Kaufman and her husband Austin and children, Lexie Prince and her husband Shane and children, and Andrew Striegel and his wife Asa, and her longtime companion Michael McVay and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many uncles and aunts, and her beloved dog Boogie.

Megan was preceded by her grandparents Rose and Ivan Bane, Herbert and Iolene Eastin and several aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Megan’s life will be conducted at Medora Christian Church on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 6:00 pm with Pastor Bob Persinger officiating.

Friends are invited to visit at Medora Christian Church on Thursday starting at 4:00 until the time of the service.
