Barbara Jean (Davidson) Freeman

Barbara J. Freeman, of Medora, passed away on the evening of November25, 2022 at the Covered Bridge Health Campus of Seymour surrounded by her loving family. She was 85.

Barbara entered this life on July 24, 1937, in Vallonia, Indiana. She was the first born to Meredith “Doggy” and Irene (Ingram) Davidson, and the oldest sister to Kenneth and Betty.  She spent most of her life in Jackson County never living far from Medora. She was graduate from Medora Community Schools. On September 1, 1954, Barbara was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Freeman at Medora United Methodist Church. From this union of over 57 years, they were blessed with two sons, David and Daryl. Bob preceded on November 12, 2018.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and just Barb to her grandkids. Barbara worked for Kasting Hardware of Medora, Dairy Bar in Medora, and then went to work for Medora Community Schools. She loved working with the kids and after 37 years, she retired.  Barbara loved the outdoors; she would often be found out walking through the wood looking for mushrooms. She loved a good game of bingo and pull tabs. She loved lottery scratch offs, and always had great luck with her scratch offs.

Her memories will live on with her family, sons, David Freeman and his wife Teresa of Medora, and Daryl Freeman of Medora, five grandchildren, Eric Freeman and his wife Nichole, Erin Buffington and her husband Steven, Chris Ann Busby and her husband Shawn, Erika King, and Lindsay Fleetwood, and several great grandchildren, brother Kenneth Davidson and his wife Carol of Medora, and sister Betty Byarlay and her husband Gene of Medora and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday November 30, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home of Medora with Jeff McPike officiating. Burial will be at White River Valley Cemetery of Medora.

Friends may call on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm at Hague funeral Home.

Memorials may be written in Barbara’s name to “Hope” Medora Goes Pink, and Schneck Hospice.
