Daryl Ray Freeman Obituary

Daryl Ray Freeman, of Medora, passed away on the late evening of March 19, 2025, at Hoosier Health and Living with his family by his side.  He was 68 years old.


Daryl entered this life on June 3, 1956, in Seymour, Indiana.  He was the youngest son of Robert “Bob” and Barbara (Davidson) Freeman who both have preceded.  He was the younger brother to David.  Daryl grew up in Medora and was a graduate of Medora Community Schools Class of 1974.  He entered the workforce starting at Randy’s Market, then went to work for the Ben Franklin Warehouse in Seymour.  He later worked at the Sportsman Holiday.  In the late 90’s Daryl moved to Gulfport, Mississippi and worked carpentry for a time before becoming the office manager at the Naval Base in Gulfport.  He later moved back to Medora where he semi-retired.


Daryl’s memories will be forever cherished by his brother Dave Freeman and his wife Teresa of Medora, nephew Eric Freeman and his wife Nicole of Camby, Indiana, and niece Erin Buffington and her husband Steven of Columbus, Indiana, great nephews and great nieces, Carson and JoAnna Freeman, and Norah and Kaiden Buffington, Uncle Kenny Davidson and several cousins.


He was preceded in death by two dear friends, Jose and Mike.


A Celebration of Daryl’s life will be conducted at a later date and will be announced on the website.  Memorials may be written in Daryl’s name to “Hope” Medora Goes Pink and Schneck Hospice.


Final wishes have been entrusted with Hague Home of Medora.
