Eph Brock Obituary

Eph Brock, of Medora, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on May 3, 2025 surrounded by his family.


Eph entered this life on September 2, 1934 in Molus, Kentucky. He was the last son born to the late Ephie and Ida Louise (Calloway) Brock. He moved to Medora as a young boy and spent the rest of his life there. Eph served our nation in the U.S. Army as a young man.


On July 1, 1959, in Uniontown, Indiana, He was united in marriage to Vivian (Brewer) Brock and from this union of over 65 years, they were blessed with three children, Rhonda, Kim, and Troy. Eph was a devoted husband, loving father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Eph worked as a brick maker for the Medora Brick Company until the plant closed.


Eph was a horse enthusiast and loved coon hunting. He also enjoyed beekeeping and stocked many cupboards with his honey. He loved sharing it with his family and friends. Eph and Vivian would often grow large gardens that would work well with his bee hives and producing honey. On the weekends, he enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Eph loved working with his hands and was frequently found working on projects around the house. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and watching them play in sports.


His legacy of love will live on through his family, daughters, Rhonda Cowles (Bryan) of Medora, Kim Sage (Jon) of Seymour, and son Troy Brock (Kim) of Medora, grandchildren, Ryan (Mindy) Autry, Ashley Young, Leah (Kaeler) Young, Caleb (Erin) Robinson, Heather (Jeremy) Hinderlider, Casey (Josh) Fields, Lacey (DJ) Brock, Jessie (Kassidy) Brock, Ryan Cowles, Casey Cowles, and several great-grandchildren.


 He was preceded in death by parents, his wife Vivian, brothers George Brock, Arvil Brock, Pearl Edward Brock, and Joseph Brock, and sisters Geneva Eglen, Joann Foist, Selma Jean Verble, and Jewel Miser and granddaughter Terra Cowles


Funeral services will be conducted on Friday May 9, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home of Medora with Paster Michael Goltry officiating.


Burial will follow at White River Valley Cemetery


Visitation will be at Hague Funeral Home on Thursday May 8 from 4:00-8:00 pm and on Friday from 12 noon until time of the service.


Memorials may be written in Eph’s name to the Medora Brick Plant
