Jason Cornett Obituary

Jason Wade Cornett, of Medora, passed away at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on January 3, 2021. He was 26.

Jason entered this life on September 12, 1994 in Seymour, Indiana. He was the loving son of Kermit Cornett, Jr. and Monica (Davidson) Apolonio and the younger brother to Stephanie and the older brother to Jose.   Jason graduated from Medora Community High School Class of 2013 and later earned his CDL. He was a driver for Rumpke of Medora.

Jason never traveled far from Jackson county, staying close to his family. He was always there to give a helping hand to his family or friends when they needed him. Jason had strong desire to help those in need. Jason saw a need to sign up as an organ donor, a decision he was proud of. Because of this, Jason was able to help save the lives of others and bring joy to those he did not know. Jason was the first to take his shirt off for anyone in need.

Jason was an avid outdoorsman. He could be found river fishing for catfish, sitting in the stand waiting for the perfect deer to shoot, sitting down in the holler calling for turkey, or out walking through the woods hunting mushrooms. He would even hop on a tractor for a quick ride.

He leaves those to cherish his memories, father, Junior Cornett of Medora, mother and stepfather, Monica and Tony Apolonio of Edinburg, brother, Jose Apolonio of Edinburgh, sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Ignacio Sandoval of Mooresville, maternal grandparents Kenneth and Carole Davidson of Medora, paternal grandparents, Kermit (Toby),Sr. and Judy Cornett of Kossuth, several aunts, uncles, cousins,  nieces and nephews.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandmother Betty Sidwell and a niece Arianna.
