Jerel (Geri) Dean Henderson, age 74, of Brownstown, passed away January 27, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis Indiana.

She was born on August 25, 1943 in Jackson MS., to Joe and Frances (Gilmore) Childs.  Geri was a 1961 graduate of Zion Benton Township High School in Zion IL.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  Before moving to Brownstown, she lived in Winthrop Harbor, IL and was the Financial Coordinator for the Village of Beach Park, IL.  After she retired she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and working on her family genealogy.

Geri is survived by Bob Henderso; three children Carla (Steve) Machak, Marc (Kim) Henderson, and Tami Henderson: two sisters, Martha (Joe) McGuffin and Barbara (Larry) Hewitt, and a brother, Tom (Debbie) Childs; grandchildren: Chris (Nicole) and Tiffany Henderson, great-grandchildren: Riley and Kailey Henderson,Ayden and Ireland Burke, and Harper Elliott, a nephew and six nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Matthew Burke. 

Friends may call at Zabel Funeral Home of Brownstown on Friday, February 2, 2018, from 11:00-1: 00 p.m.

Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. at Zabel Funeral Home of Brownstown.
