Larry Osborn Obituary

Larry E. Osborn, of Medora, was the beloved son of Joseph and Mary Louise (Bea) Osborn, born on August 11, 1940, in Plainfield, Indiana, and departed this life on November 3, 2025, at the Hoosier Health & Living of Brownstown, at the age of 85.

Larry grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1958. He worked hard and graduated before his graduating class ahead of his class, so he could serve in the US Army. Larry served with the 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.   After his service Larry attended the Indiana Business College and became an Accountant, working for Farber Distributors (who brought Pabst Blue Ribbon to Indiana), Sabronskin Demo Construction of Indianapolis, NTN Drive Shaft, and Hall Construction of Medora.

Larry had desire to serve his community. He made the decision to become a Master Mason.

He was a member of the Medora Masonic Lodge 328. He was a Shriner and a member of the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis. As a Shriner, he was a part of the Indy 500 Club and helped with the Shriner’s Circus in Indianapolis. Larry would go on to meet his future wife at a Shriner event.

On October 20, 1972, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Mr. Osborn was united in holy matrimony to Patricia Louise (Wever) Osborn. They had the distinction of being the last couple married before the church relocated and became known as Sandy Hook United Methodist Church. Together they lovingly raised four children: Barry, Don, Mark, and Melanie.

Larry, along with his wife owned and operated the Covered Bridge Café of Medora. He also managed Osborn Tax Service and Consultation of Medora, providing tax assistance to local families in managing their finances. Dedicated to community service, he served as treasurer for both the Medora Masonic Lodge and the Medora United Methodist Church.

His cherished memories will live on with his wife of 52 years, Pat Osborn, children, Barry Baker, Don Baker and his wife Cindy, Mark Baker and his wife Lucy,  and Melanie Barnett and her husband Greg, a sister Rebecca Rankin, grandchildren, Ashley Rogers and her husband Rusty, Bryce Guffey, Elijah Barnett and fiancé Alysha Horton, Evan Barnett and his wife Macaila, Allison Tarrah and her husband Travis, Taylor Baker, Leslie Krebbs and her husband Derick, Lauren Burns and her fiancé Anthony Wheat, great-grandchildren, Karter Jo, Rylee, Leni, Tyler, Bennett, Aleda, Danni, Zarian, Jude, and Lilly.

He was preceded by his parents, a brother Jerry Osborn, and a brother-in-law Carmin Rankin.
