Lonnie Dale Sowers, of Medora, passed away peacefully on the early morning of March 14, 2023, at Seymour Crossing. He was 60 years old.

Lonnie entered this life on June 3, 1962, in Seymour, Indiana. He was the only child of Rick and Sharon Sowers. Lonnie was a graduate of Bedford Schools. Lonnie lived in Jackson County his entire life, never leaving far from his home in Medora. After his parents passed, he moved to Seymour. Lonnie had a gentle soul and always greeted folks with a happy smile. He loved the outdoors and would often take hikes in the backwoods looking for cans and mushrooms.

His memories of his love will be forever treasured by his aunts and uncles, Wanda Brock of Medora, Carolyn Sue Dixon of Seymour, Joan Burgan of Seymour, Rex Phillips of Seymour Randy Phillips of Seymour, Larry Phillips of Marysville, TN, Steve Beavers and his wife Jean of Weddleville, Danny Beavers and his wife Mary of Medora, Brenda Turpin and her husband Mike of Salsberry, and Teresa Jo Doty and her husband Mike of Medora, and several cousins.

Funeral Service will be conducted at Hague Funeral Home of Medora on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm with Jeff McPike officiating.

Burial will follow at Weddleville Cemetery

Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be written in Lonnie’s name to the Weddleville Cemetery.
