Loren E. Smith, 81 of Seymour, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018, at Schneck Medical Center of Seymour surrounded by his family.  

Funeral Services will be conducted by Hague Funeral Home of Medora on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Bob Persinger, officiating.  Burial will follow at Dixon Chapel Cemetery.  

Friends may call at Hague Funeral Home of Medora on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 11:00 am until time of the service.  

Loren was born on February 2, 1937, in Washington County, Indiana to the late Taff and Pansy (Reynolds) Smith.  On December 27, 1964, in Brownstown, Indiana he married Mary H. (Ruth), Smith.  She survives.

Loren was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He loved all sports.  He was an avid fan of Purdue, Indiana Pacers, and the Cincinnati Reds.  He retired from the Medora Plastics Factory.  He was a member of the Jamestown Ministry.

Loren is survived by his wife of 53 years, 4 children: Lorene (Jamie) Smith, Pansy (MIke) McGill, Mary Mary (Roger) Smith, and Henry (Lawanda) Smith;  2 brothers Roger (Myrtle) Smith and Jim (Kay) Smith; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters Joann Smith and Lorene Smith; 4 brothers:  William Smith, Harold Smith, Ronnie Smith, and Lee Smith, and a grand-daughter Velicity Stidham.
