Mrs. Margaret Louise “Lou” Beickman Younger, a lifelong resident of Brownstown, passed away on July 22, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village. She was 93 years old.
Lou entered this life in Brownstown, Indiana on September 1, 1928 to the late William and Lizzie Schuerman Beickman. She attended St. Peter’s Church School and later graduated from Brownstown High School in 1946. She was united in marriage on August 1, 1954 to Ray R. Younger at the Tyson Methodist Church in Versailles, Indiana, and to this happy union of nearly sixty-eight years came a son, and a daughter to bless their home.
After raising her children, Lou worked in several retail jobs in the Brownstown community, most notably with the old Hamer’s Store and with Brownstown Greenhouse. She and Ray were also longtime members of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Lou is fondly remembered for her love of baking, especially pies, tending to her flowers, traveling with her husband, Ray, and caring for her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory, her husband Ray of Brownstown, Indiana; her daughter, Rhonda Kidd and her husband, Kenny, of Memphis, Indiana; her daughter-in-law, Laurie Fawver of Valparaiso, Indiana; her grandchildren, Misty Sasse, Jeremy Kidd, Makenzie Smith, Paul Younger and Maggy Kacmar; her great-grandchildren, Camille, Nolan, Nick, Chloe, Macey, Preston, Norah, Zaya, Scout, Hank, Tilly and Tate; her great-great grandchildren; Kayden and Wesson, and several other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Herbert, Wilbert, Raymond, Richard, Elmer, and one that passed in infancy; her son Jeffrey Jay Younger, and her great-grandson, Tanner Hublar.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 403 West Bridge Street, Brownstown, Indiana, on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Martin Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Zable Funeral Home, 809 West Walnut Street, Brownstown, Indiana, and on Wednesday, after 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Memorial may be written in Lou’s name to the St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
