Obituary

Phyllis Clampitt, of Medora, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the morning of July 13, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village. She was 77 years old

Phyllis Eveleen Lambert Clampitt entered this life on November 13, 1944, in Seymour, Indiana. She was the youngest child born to Huburt and Eva (Lonsberry) Lambert.  Phyllis spent most her life in Medora never travelling far from home. She attended Medora Community Schools and then went to work for Spartons in Brownstown for over 14 years, and then later she went to work at Tecumseh in Salem. She retired from Tecumseh after 20 years. Phyllis was united in marriage to Albert Clampitt on October 21, 1966. From this union, they were blessed with two children. Although this marriage did not last, Albert and Phyllis remained friends until her passing. Phyllis was a devoted mother to Bonnie and Sharon, and a loving Grandma to five grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Phyllis loved her cats and enjoyed working in her garden. She was also known for very opinionated advice that she would be happy to give to those who asked.

She leaves cherished memories with her family, daughters: Bonnie England and her husband Kenny of Medora, and Sharon Bowers and her husband Claude of Medora, a sister Beulah Wheeler of Seymour, grandchildren Zachary Bowers and his wife Alyssa of Seymour, Kelsey Hacker of Medora, Kristopher England and his wife Starla of Medora, Eva Hessig and her husband Matt of Medora, and Josh hacker of Brownstown,  thirteen great-grandchildren: Caitlynne Bowers, Sampson Bowers, Nicholas Bowers, Zoey Scott, Frejya Hacker, Brayden Estes, Lexus England, Asmara Estes, Rilynn England, Noah Hessig, Malachi England, Delanie Hessig, and Eden Hessig.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lyman Lambert, Carl Dean Lambert, James Lambert, sisters, Virginia Branaman, Irene Lambert, Christine Smith, and Mary Louise Thixton, and a special friend Joe Guthrie.
