Richard Howard Sowers

Richard Howard “Rick” Sowers, age 74, of Medora, passed away peacefully at St Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis on January 30, 2020.

Rick entered this life on October 26, 1945, in Corydon, Indiana. The loving son of Hubert Leon and Ruth Elizabeth (Jackson) Beavers. Rick spent most of his life in Medora. On February 12, 1962, he married the love of his life, Faye (Phillips) Sowers. From this blessed union of 57 years, they had a son Lonnie Dale.  Rick was a lumberjack and loved working in the woods. In his spare time, he could be found fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Surviving to cherish his memories is his wife, Faye of Medora, his son Lonnie Sowers of Medora, his two brothers, Steven Wayne Beavers and his wife Jean of Weddleville, Indiana, and Dana Beavers and his wife Mary of Medora, Indiana, his two sisters, Brenda Kaye Turpin and her husband Mike of Salsberry, Indiana and Teresa Jo Doty and her husband Michael of Medora, Indiana.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside Service will be conducted at Weddleville Cemetery on Monday, February 3, 2020, at 1:00 pm.

A Memorial Fund in Rick’s name has been set up through Hague Funeral Home.
