Ronald “Buck” Lee Smith, of Medora, passed away at his home on April 6, 2026. He was 65 years old.
Buck entered this life on February 16, 1961, in Seymour, Indiana. He was second born to Ronald L. and Helen (Reed) Smith. He was the brother to Candy, Tammy Jo, Loren “Butch”, Brenda and Nioka.
He grew up in Medora and never saw the need to leave Medora. He never travelled far from home. He attended Medora Community Schools before entering the workforce. He went to work at Tecumseh Factory in Salem and then went to work at Aisin, until he was forced into early retirement
After Buck retired, he began crafting to occupy his free time. He loved his Big Red. He would often recycle the cans to create boats, scare crows, or other animals and give them away. Buck would also carve walking sticks. Often sitting for hours, whittling to get the stick just right.
His memories will live on with his family, mother Helen Smith of Medora, sisters, Candy Wilde of Dudleytown, Brenda Smith and Nioka Smith of Medora, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his father, a sister Tammy Jo Smith and brother Butch Smith
