Vickie Sue (Brown) Hubbard Obituary
Vickie Sue Brown Hubbard, of Bedford, passed away on the afternoon of May 22, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side. She was 70 years old.
Vickie entered this life on January 20, 1956, in Seymour Indiana. She was the first born to Ernest and Bonnie (England) Brown and the older sister to Zirita “Z” and Randy. She grew up in the Medora area and was a graduate of Brownstown Central High School Class of 1974.
She was united in marriage to Nickie Hubbard on June 8, 1974, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Medora. This union was blessed with three children, Jared Scott, Nicole, and Jessi. Jared preceded Vickie.
Vickie was a devoted wife, loving mother and Granny. She went to earn her real estate license. She sold a few houses and decided she would rather stay home and raise her girls. She was a self-taught artist, quilter, and for many years Vickie would craft quilts with the annual Ft. Vallonia Days. Then Facebook came along. Vickie became a Facebook Diva. She made many friends by proclaiming her strength in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through Facebook she shared inspirational quotes to let other people know that they were not alone on their cancer journey. She became a frequent visitor of Facebook Jail because of sharing her faith. Vickie always looked forward to her Tuesday’s deals and Chinese food with Z. Together they would travel the local communities for free stores, yard sales, thrift shops and all the other “good deal” opportunities that they could find.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her husband of over 51 years, Nick Hubbard, daughters Nicole Hubbard and Jessi Wheeler and her husband Jesse, grandchildren, Robert Bowman and his fiance Tiffany, Ruby Bowman and her fiancé Tony Eads, Wyatt Bowman, and Haley Wheeler, four great-grandchildren, and sister Zirita ‘Z” Roberts and her husband Michael.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Randy.
Funeral services for Vickie will be conducted at 2:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home on Thursday May 28, 2026, with Pastor Ken Keily officiating. Burial will follow at Weddelville Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 12 noon until 2:00 on Thursday at Hague Funeral Home.
